MedicineSalbutamol inhaler (Ventolin Inhaler) is used for the short-term treatment of bronchospasm in patients with asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other breathing conditions. It can help relieve symptoms, prevent complications, and improve breathing and exercise ability. It is not habit-forming and should only be used as recommended by your healthcare provider. It is used to treat asthma, COPD, and other breathing conditions by adults, children, and adolescents over 12 years of age. Inhaled salbutamol works by blocking the action of certain adrenergic receptors, which helps to relax and widen airways and increases the flow of air through the lungs.

Your healthcare provider will determine the appropriate dosage based on your specific condition and your age. It is not advisable for children below 12 years to use it. The inhaler should be used with caution in patients with a history of asthma or who are pregnant or may become pregnant. It is not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age.
Inhaler is typically inhaled every 3-4 hours as directed by a healthcare professional, usually in a combination of an aerosol spray (Ventolin Inhaler) and metered-dose inhaler (MDI). You may use the inhaler as prescribed by your healthcare provider for example by using the MDI in combination with an inhaler. Inhaler is best used during asthma attacks or as directed by your healthcare provider.

You may know other names and symptoms of asthma or COPD, such as bronchitis, and some types of exercise (such as exercise in the form of walking or resistance training).
